CONWAY, S.C. – On Tuesday, the Coastal Carolina softball team dropped their third consecutive game of the season at home, this time the No. 16 team in the nation, the South Carolina Gamecocks by the score of 10-2 in a shortened, five-inning game.
South Carolina jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Chants' starter Raelee Brabham in the first inning after the freshman allowed a two-RBI single to Kassidy Krupit, which scored Kenzie McGuire who walked to lead off the game and Mackenzie Boesel who doubled into right field.

Two more runs would come around to score for the Gamecocks in the of the fourth inning off Coastal reliever Iyanla DeJesus. Lauren Stewart led off with a single up the middle, and then Madison Owens hit her third homer of the season to put South Carolina up 10-0.
CCU scored their only two runs of the game as junior Courtney Dean hit her second home run of the season off South Carolina starter Karen Ochs, but it wasn't enough for Coastal Carolina as Ochs would go onto to retire the finals three outs to improve to 5-3 on the season.
