CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University's
Loranna Austin has been named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
The junior forward played 150 of the 180 minutes in the Chants' games against South Alabama and Troy. She led the Chants to a 2-0 win over Troy scoring both goals, one in each half in the win.
It was the first multi-goal match of her career. This season the Blythwood, S.C. native has scored three goals in the first three matches of the season on only four shots.
She enters Sunday's action against Appalachian State as the fourth-leading scorer in the Sun Belt in points (6) and tied for second in points per game (2.00). She is also tied for second in goals (3) and is tied for first in goals per game (1.00).
Austin and the Chanticleers will host Appalachian State Sunday, Oct. 4 at noon. Before the game, the 2020 seniors will be honored.
