Chants finished sixth at the event in 2019
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team jumps back into action Oct. 3-5 at the Evie Odom Invitational, formerly known as the Princess Anne Invitational. Old Dominion University will host the event at The Princess Anne Country Club located in Virginia Beach, Va.
It's an event the Chants have played in before and with some success. CCU last played in the tourney in 2019 and came away with a strong sixth-place finish which saw senior Caitlin Evans-Brand lead CCU with a seventh-place individual finish.
The 13-team field is loaded with several teams ranked among the top-70 teams nationally led by Central Florida who is ranked 17th in the latest Golfstat rankings. Joining ODU, CCU, and UCF in the event are Campbell, Charlotte, Chattanooga, College of Charleston, East Carolina, North Florida, Penn State, Sacramento State, UNC Greensboro, and South Florida.
Head coach Katie Quinney will have the same lineup for the second consecutive event led by seniors Tiffany Arafi and Evans-Brand. Arafi had a stellar outing last week at the Lady Paladin Invite finishing fourth with a three-under 213. Sophia Carlsen will also be in the lineup as will junior Jenjira Jinangkul, who made a strong return to the course last week with a six-over 222. Freshman Sara Sarrion will look to build on her four-over 220 score in her initial event as a Chanticleer a week ago.
