SERIES HISTORY VERSUS TEXAS STATE & UTA
The Chanticleers are 3-5 all-time versus Texas State, having lost four straight matches in the overall series heading into Friday night's contest.

Coastal is 3-2 all-time versus the UTA Mavericks, including having won each of the last two meetings between the two teams.

LAST TIME OUT
The Chanticleers improved to 14-4 overall this season, 8-0 in SBC play, and took control of first place in the Sun Belt East Division with victories over ULM (Oct. 15) and South Alabama (Oct. 17) at the HTC Center last weekend.

CCU IS PERFECT
Since the start of the 2020 season, the Chanticleers own a perfect record in regular-season Sun Belt Conference matches (24-0). Coastal went 16-0 in SBC play in 2020 and is off to an 8-0 start in conference play this season.

SUN BELT STREAK
The Chants' current Sun Belt Conference winning streak sits at 28-straight wins dating all the way back to the 2019 season. The last time CCU lost in the conference regular season was on Nov. 2, 2019, at Troy.

CHASING 200
Coastal Carolina head coach Jozsef Forman is on the brink of his 200th career win as the leader of the Chanticleer volleyball program. In his 10th season at CCU, Forman is 199-75 overall at CCU and has posted a 257-114 overall record in 13 seasons as a head coach.

NEW FACE IN ALYSSA ESKE
Junior defensive specialist Alyssa Eske joined the indoor volleyball team just two weeks ago, as she is a member of the beach volleyball team.

Eske is a transfer from Illinois, where she played 16 matches in 2020-21 as a sophomore and in seven matches as a freshman in 2019.

The Wisconsin native originally joined the Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team to play alongside her sister Katlin Eske.

THIRD TIME IS THE CHARM
Each of Coastal Carolina's last two losses has come to the Texas State Bobcats, with both defeats coming in the finals of the Sun Belt Championship Volleyball Tournament in each of the last two years.

Coastal dropped just one match last year in an abbreviated 2020 fall season, falling to the Bobcats in the championship title match 3-2 (25-20, 18-25, 25-23, 19-25, 6-15).

Prior to the 2020 fall campaign, the Chants' last loss was the very last match in 2019, a 3-1 (24-26, 25-19, 21-25, 18-25) defeat in the 2019 championship title match versus the Bobcats.

QUICK WORK
Coastal has made quick work of most of its opponents this season, as exactly half of their matches this season (9-of-18) have lasted just three sets.
