WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Coastal Carolina's Paola Landin Lopez advanced to the semifinals of the B1 Singles draw after earning a 7-6 (3), 2-6, 7-6(4) win over Maddie Brown of North Carolina to advance to stay alive and advance in the draw.

The doubles pair of Mathilde Tranberg and Isabella Weatherhead finished as runners up in doubles play of the Main B draw on Saturday, falling in the championship match 8-6 to the team of Jenna Dean and Maddie Brown of Charlotte.

Also competing for the Chants in singles action on Saturday was Jesse Hollins and Weatherhead, both competing in the B1 Singles draw like Landin Lopez.

In the third round of the B1 Singles draw, Hollins defeated Antonella Benavides of Western Carolina 6-4, 6-7 (8), 6-3 to move on to the quarterfinals, where she suffered a setback to the No. 2-seeded Ilayda Baykan of Furman 7-6 (2), 6-4.

Weatherhead dropped her singles match on Saturday in the B1 Singles draw consolation bracket, as she fell in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 to the top seed Jenna Dean of Charlotte.

The Chants will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 24, as Lopez will play in the semifinals of the B1 Singles Draw.
