McCall Named to Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2021

Coastal Carolina quarterback was also a member of the 2020 Class last season
FORT WORTH, Texas – Coastal Carolina redshirt sophomore quarterback Grayson McCall has been named to the Davey O'Brien QB Class of 2021. The honor makes him eligible to be voted as one of 16 semifinalists for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.
This season, McCall is 102-for-132 in pass attempts for 1,769 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just one interception. He has also rushed 40 times for 79 yards and two touchdowns on the year.
One of the top quarterbacks in all of FBS, McCall leads the nation in completion percentage at 77.3, passing efficiency at 225.8, and in yards per pass attempt at 13.4 yards. He also ranks second nationally in passing yards per completion at 17.34 yards, 21st in passing touchdowns with 15, and 25th in passing yards per game with 252.7 per contest.
Over his three years at Coastal, McCall is 16-2 as the starter for the Chanticleers. He also has already shattered the Coastal career record books, ranking first in pass completion percentage (72.0), pass efficiency (199.04), average yards per completion (15.2), total offense per play (9.17), passing yards per game (214.1), and total offense per game (247.1).
McCall enters Thursday's contest versus Troy (Oct. 28) having thrown for over 200 yards in six of seven games this season and has tossed two or more touchdown passes five times this year and a total of 14 times in just 20 games played in his CCU career.
For the second straight year, voting will take place on our @DaveyOBrien Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. The top five vote getters on each of the three social media platforms will receive bonus committee votes which will be added to the ballots cast by the National Selection Committee.
