Coastal Women's Soccer Returns Home to Face Louisiana

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team returns to the CCU Soccer Stadium and welcomes the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns to Conway on Friday, Oct. 8. The kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

The Chanticleers enter Friday's match with an overall record of 3-6-2 and 1-3-1 in the Sun Belt, while the Ragin' Cajuns hold a 5-7-0 overall record and a 2-2-0 mark in Sun Belt play.

CCU is coming off a 4-0 loss on the road to South Alabama last Sunday (Oct. 3). The Jaguars struck early recording their first goal in the 14th minute putting the hosts up 1-0 before Morgan Cross gave USA a 2-0 lead in the 19th minute.

Following halftime, The Jaguars added another goal in the 48th minute as Kailey Littleford put the hosts up 3-0 before recording her second goal of the match in the 54th minute as she connected on a pass from Cross and put South Alabama up 4-0.

SCOUTING THE RAGIN' CAJUNS

Louisiana finished the 2020-21 season 10-9-1 overall and 4-3-1 in Sun Belt play and return 15 players and seven starters from last year's squad that reached the semifinals of the Sun Belt Conference Championships for a second consecutive year.
Ragin' Cajuns midfielder Lizzie Mayfield picked up her first honors of the 2021 season when she was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team. Mayfield finished as the Ragin' Cajuns leader in points (18), goals (6), assists (6), and shots (50) during the 2020 season.
So far this season, UL has tallied conference victories over Troy (2-0) and Arkansas State (2-1) but also fell to Georgia State (3-1) and South Alabama (1-0).
