CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will return home to host Erskine at the HTC Center on the campus of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C., on Tuesday, Nov. 16. The opening tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.
CCU is off to a 2-0 start after winning its second contest of the year dropping in-state foe South Carolina State 81-57 in Orangeburg, S.C., last Saturday. The Flying Fleet is off to a 0-1 start under second-year head coach and vice-president for athletics Mark Peeler.
COASTAL vs. ERSKINE HISTORY
The Chanticleers trail in the overall series between the two programs 5-12 with all five wins coming in the last seven meetings. The last time CCU and Erskine faced each other was a 64-49 home win for the Chants in 2008. It was the fourth-straight victory for Coastal over the Flying Fleet.

Senior forward
Aja Blount stepped up her game in the last outing pouring in 39 points to raise her season average to 24.0 points per game to lead the offensive attack. Newcomer
Blayre Shultz is second on the team with 13.0 points per game and is leading the team in assists with 11 combined in the first two games. As a team, the Chants are putting up an average of 99.0 points per game and shooting .574 percent from the field and .320 percent from behind the arc.
On the defensive end of the floor, Blount leads the team in rebounding grabbing 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per contest while teammate
Janeen Camp has blocked six shots over the first two games. Defensively, CCU is allowing just 41.0 points per game while holding opponents to a .292 shooting percent.
ABOUT ERSKINE
Erskine scored 53 points in its first outing of the season while giving up 60 in the loss to Johnson & Wales of Charlotte, N.C. The Flying Fleet has two players averaging double digits in Anzya Cook and Shanece Mitchell with 15.0 and 12.0 points per game, respectively. The lone senior Megan Jones is leading the team with three assists while Cook has made all three of her three-point attempts.
Defensively for Erskine, Janelle Carter leads the team with seven rebounds and three steals. As a team, the Flying Fleet is allowing their opponents to shoot .351 from the field and holding them to .217 from three-point range.
