Beach Volleyball Announces 2021 Spring Slate

Coastal Carolina beach volleyball will open up the season on Feb. 28
CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina beach volleyball head coach Steve Loeswick has released the 2021 spring schedule which is highlighted by the Coastal Carolina Invitational on March 5-6 at the Coastal Carolina Beach Volleyball Complex in Conway, S.C.
The 2021 schedule will be a challenging one for the Sandy Chants, as CCU is scheduled to play six preseason AVCA nationally-ranked top-20 teams in Florida State (No. 3), Stetson (No. 11), Florida Atlantic (No. 12), Florida International (No. 13), South Carolina (No. 14), and Georgia State (No. 18), as well as North Florida who is receiving votes.
Coastal is set to open the season on the road at Jacksonville on Sunday, Feb. 28, before hosting the Coastal Carolina Invitational on March 5-6. The two-day home tournament field includes CCU, South Carolina, Stetson, College of Charleston, and UNCW.
The Chants will then play at the Georgia State Day of Duals event, which will be one day of play versus Georgia State, Chattanooga, and Mercer on March 10 in Atlanta, Ga.
Following the one-day midweek event, Coastal will play back-to-back weekend tournaments on the road in the Palmetto State at South Carolina and the College of Charleston.
The Carolina Challenge will be held in Columbia, S.C., from March 13-14 and will consist of regional foes Jacksonville, Mercer, Southern Miss, and the Gamecocks.
The CofC Invitational will be the next weekend, March 20-21, and will include matchups with Jacksonville, UNCW, and the College of Charleston.
After a pair of home matches versus Erskine on March 26 and Carson-Newman on March 28, the Chants will travel to the Sunshine State for a tournament at Florida State on April 9-10. That field will include nationally-ranked foes Florida State, FIU, FAU, and Stetson, as well as North Florida.
CCU will then wrap-up the regular-season slate at the Blazer Beach Bash on April 16-17. Hosted by UAB in Birmingham, Ala., the event includes CCU, Central Arkansas, Mercer, ULM, and host UAB.
The 2021 ASUN Beach Volleyball Championship will take place on April 23-25 and will be hosted by Stetson in DeLand, Fla.
