Chanticleers have won four-straight matches

Clinton, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team recorded its fourth-straight win with a 7-0 victory over Presbyterian on Tuesday afternoon in Clinton, S.C.

Coastal opened the match scoring with back-to-back wins at the No. 2 and 3 doubles positions to take the doubles point and an early 1-0 match lead.

The team of Victoire De Samucewicz and Kristyna Jurkova defeated PC's duo of Alexa Wilson and Samantha Calais 6-4 at the No. 2 doubles spot, while the freshmen tandem of Jesse Hollins and Mathilde Tranberg followed with a 7-5 victory over Jessica Leeman and Lucianna Piedra at the No. 3 position.

The Chants, who dropped the match at No. 1 doubles, had a clean sweep through the six singles contests in the 7-0 win.

Tranberg picked up a 6-1, 6-1 straight-set win over Samantha Calais at No. 2 to extend the Chants' lead out to 2-0 in the match, while Hollins followed with her fourth-straight win with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 to start the Chants' rout.

Senior Somer Dalla-Bona continued her singles winning streak and clinched the match for the Chants with a 6-1, 6-2 straight-set win over Zeba Jamal at No. 1.

De Samucewicz would then pick up the victory on court No. 4 over Alexa Wilson 6-1, 6-2 to keep the shutout intact.

CCU closed out the match with wins at flights No. 3 and No. 5, as Jurkova won the match with a 6-0, 6-4 win at the No. 3 position before Valentina Urelli defeated Lucianna Piedra on court No. 5 6-4, 7-6 to complete the 7-0 win.

The Chanticleers (4-2) will head home to the Lynn Stevens Tennis Complex to face Sun Belt Conference members Georgia Southern and Georgia State on Saturday, March 6, and Sunday, March 7, with the first serve scheduled for 10 a.m. ET for both matches.
