ROCK HILL, N.C. – A pair of second half goals carried the Coastal Carolina women's soccer team to a 2-1 lead at Winthrop in a game that was halted in the 67th minute due to lightning.
The Eagles carried a 1-0 lead into the half, but CCU came out and took control early in the second half. Santana Pressley started the scoring in the 49th minute on an assist from Rose Behrmann.
Just six minutes later Behrmann, picked up her second assist of the match on a pass to Ella Schad for the go-ahead score. That score came just minutes before lightning moved into the area and after a long delay, the match was halted.
Coastal will open regular-season action when they host Charleston Southern at the CCU Soccer Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. ET.
