The Chanticleers are coming off a 1-0 double-overtime victory last Sunday over the visiting Wofford Terriers. Wofford looked to strike early, taking the first shot of the game just seven minutes into the contest. CCU looked to counter, as
Carleigh Frilles' shot to the low center of the goal in the 12th minute was easily scooped up by Wofford's Maria Mon. Back-to-back shots from the Chanticleers by
Mackenzie Cherry and
Loranna Austin just five minutes later were also stopped. At the break, Coastal Carolina led 9-3 in total shots, with five on goal to Wofford's one.
Wofford's Caroline Doss also saved a shot a minute into the second overtime period before the Chanticleers scored in the low left corner on a shot by
Sarah Allen with 56 seconds remaining, as she connected on a pass from
Taylor Tolson, her first assist of the season.
