CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team hosts Sun Belt rival App State for a Sunday afternoon match at the CCU Soccer Stadium. The game is set to kick off at noon ET and slated to stream on ESPN+.

The Chanticleers look to snap a four-game losing streak against the Mountaineers after falling to Texas State 2-1 in the final second of the first overtime period on Thursday night. Junior
Megan Brouse tallied her first goal of the season in the 17th minute as she connected on a cross from fellow Chanticleer
Sarah Allen to put the Chants up 1-0.
Allen looked to put the visitors up but she shot 10 minutes later was saved.
Texas State tied the contest at 1-all just 11 minutes following the halftime break, as Bailey Peschel played a ball off her chest and was able to find the back of the net. 90 minutes wasn't enough and Coastal was headed to its third overtime match of the season.
With just one second left in the first overtime period, the Bobcats' Trinity Clark played the rebound and found the back of the net for the golden goal.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State finished the 2020-2021 season 6-11-1 overall and 4-6-0 in Sun Belt play. The Mountaineers tallied a victory over then No. 5 nationally-ranked ULM, 2-1, in double overtime.
- The Apps return eight of 11 starters from last season, including five of their top eight leading goal scorers. In addition, the Apps return starter, Kerry Eagleston between the posts while also securing 19 total returners and 12 newcomers.Olivia Cohen returns for App State after finishing third overall and second among position players. Cohen tied for first on the squad with a pair of goals and was third with four points. She led the team with 19 shot attempts.
