Men’s Tennis Heads to College of Charleston Team Invite this Weekend

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team will travel to Charleston, S.C. to open up the 2021 fall schedule by competing in the College of Charleston Team Invite from Oct. 1-3.
Participants in this weekend's action will be the host College of Charleston, Wofford, and Campbell.
The Chanticleers return a lot of experienced players this season, as five of the eight 2021-2022 Chants have seen action in teal. Among the returning Chants leading the way is 2020 All-Sun Belt first-team singles selection Bastien Huon, 2020 All-Sun Belt second-team doubles selection Diego Giraldo, and seniors Neil O'Connor and Daiki Tanabe. Sophomore Guilherme Toresan also returns this season after seeing playing time for the Chants last year.
Three newcomers will get their first taste of action as a Chant this weekend. Super senior Federico Garnier comes to Coastal after a four-year career at Limestone, while graduate transfer Niccolo Rossi comes from Cardinal Stritch after playing four years for the Wolves. Fellow newcomer junior Carlos Berna Ruiz will see his first collegiate action this weekend after a two-year career at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
