The Chanticleers are coming off a 0-0 double-overtime draw on the road at Jacksonville on Friday night. CCU looked to strike early as
Sarah Allen's shot to the lower right corner of the net was saved by the Dolphins' keeper in the fourth minute. Jacksonville looked to strike first in the sixth minute but the shot went high over the top of the net.
Mackenzie Cherry tallied the Chants' second shot of the night in the 20th minute, but it too was saved.
It reached the 50th minute of the match before a shot was taken by either team in the second half, but it was CCU's
Megan Brouse whose shot was blocked. Both teams looked to convert in the final minutes of regulation but 90 minutes wasn't enough and the Chants were headed to their second overtime match of the season.
Neither team was able to find the golden goal and the match ended after the second overtime period.
