PASIG CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Philippine Football Federation announced Tuesday that Coastal Carolina women's soccer sophomore midfielder Carleigh Frilles has earned a call-up to the Philippine Women's National Football Team.

"We could not be more excited for Carleigh. She has continued to work hard after our season ended to prepare for this opportunity," head coach Paul Hogan said. "This international experience will help be a catalyst for her continued development. We fully believe in Carleigh and know this will only make her a better Chanticleer."

Frilles will represent the Philippines as one of 23 players who earned the call-up to form the final squad in the AFC Women's Asian Cup India 2022, which kicks off on January 20, 2022, in India. She is eligible to represent the Philippines because of her family's lineage on her father's side.

The Philippines will take on Thailand, Australia, and Indonesia in Group B with matches to be played in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, and Pune.

The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-place teams, will qualify to the knockout stages. The 12 teams will also contest for the five qualification spots for the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.

A native of Haymarket, Va., Frilles appeared in 17 matches, earning 14 starts during the 2021 season. She logged 1,046 minutes in the midfield. Over her two seasons at CCU, Frilles has notched two goals, recorded 37 shots (nine on goal), and logged 1,922 total minutes in 32 appearances (27 starts).
