
Chants Wrap Up Bob Pollock Meet on Saturday

Chanticleers will be off next weekend before heading to Liberty in two weeks
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina indoor track & field teams wrapped up their weekend at the Bob Pollock Meet on Saturday afternoon at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex in Clemson, S.C.
Highlighting the women's day was the women's 4x400-meter relay team of Amelia Canetto, Shani'a Bellamy, Lauren Gordon, and Nya McGowan raced to a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:46.85 on Saturday, the eighth-best time in program history.
Junior sprinter Melissa Jefferson registered a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.70, while a pair of Chants in Camryn Lorick and Kadasia Evans placed in a tie for 13th overall in the high jump event with matching marks of 1.56 meters.
In the 800-meters, Amilia Wise-Sweat and Ashley Rulison finished in 26th and 33rd overall, respectively, with times of 2:21.26 and 2:26.20, with Rulison's time being a new personal-best mark.
On the men's side, freshman Jens Rueckert Jr. finished eighth overall with a leap of 2.01 meters in the high jump event, while freshman Garrett Bivens raced to a 29th-place finish in the 3000-meters with his time of 8:38.43.
Three Chants competed in the 800-meters on the men's side, as Gage Nielsen was the top-Chant finisher, placing 36th overall with a time of 1:58.52, while fellow freshman Jack Benoit (2:00.00) and senior Jerardo Perez (2:02.22) finished 40th and 42nd overall, respectively.
Veteran Chant Ty Floyd was one of four Chants to compete in the 200-meter dash, as the super senior placed 25th with a time of 21.99. Fellow Chants DeVonte Harris (22.12), Keshon Sapp (22.12), and Robert Johnson (22.27) finished 29th, 30th, and 32nd, respectively, in the sprint event.
The Chanticleers will take a week off before returning to action at the Darius Dixon Memorial hosted by Liberty in Lynchburg, Va., on Feb. 11-12.
