CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball will take on the winner of No. 3W South Alabama and No. 6E Marshall in Foley, Ala., on Friday, Nov. 18, in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Championships at 6 p.m. ET. CCU earned the No. 2 seed in the East Division just behind the No. 1-seeded James Madison.
During regular season play, the Chants defeated the Thundering Herd 3-2 (Oct. 28) and 3-0 (Oct. 29) on the road, just before dropping a pair of road contests at the Jaguars 3-0 (Nov. 4) and 3-2 (Nov. 5).

The Chanticleers enter the conference tournament at 17-12 overall and 9-7 in Sun Belt action on the season after dropping a pair of conference matches at home versus Texas State . Outside hitter
Ella Saada led the Chants' offense with a total of 37 kills combined over both contests, while setter
Brigitta Petrenko tallied 87 assists.
Defensively, CCU blocked a combined 30 shots, as
Christina Nance and Saada paced the defense with 10 blocks each, while
Lina Perugini (51) and
Paulina Perez Rosas (17) combined for 68 digs of the Chants' 140 total digs over the two matches.
This season, the Chants' offense has been led by Saada with 328 kills on the year, while Perez Rosas and
Agata Lesiak have added 243 and 139 spikes, respectively. Petrenko is the team's assists and service aces leader, as the Eger, Hungary, native has 993 assists and 49 service aces on the year.
Defensively, Coastal Carolina has totaled 247 blocks as a team, highlighted by Nance with a total of 92 blocks,
Nyla Shepherd with 72 blocks, and Petrenko and Perez Rosas with 54 and 38 blocks, respectively. Perugini has picked up 463 digs in the 111 sets played, giving the Bethlehem, Pa., native 1,664 career digs. Perugini currently sits second on CCU's all-time digs list after passing Brett Starbuck in the regular-season finale.
If the Chants win, they will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
