Chanticleers posted 14 singles wins over the weekend
DELAND, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team wrapped up its 2022 fall season with a strong showing on the final day of the Stetson Invitational on Sunday in DeLand, Fla.
The Chants posted three wins in doubles play and four wins in singles action versus the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
The tandem of Tatum Burger and Jesse Hollins won 6-4 at the top doubles flight, while newcomers Kata Foldeak and Lilie Steryous teamed up to hold off JSU with a 7-5 victory at the No. 2 flight.
The other doubles win came by way of Anna Babayan and Megan Hopton, as the pair doubled up JSU for a 6-3 win at the No. 3 position.
Continuing their strong play in singles action over the weekend, Babayan won in straight sets 7-5, 6-2 over Romane Mosse at the No. 2 flight, while her doubles partner Hopton won 6-1, 6-3 over Zuzana Pavelekova at the No. 5 spot.
Junior Jesse Hollins also won in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 over Polina Ramenskaia at the No. 7 position, while Steryous held on for a 6-2, 2-6, 10-6 win over Anna Syrora at the No. 4 flight.
The Chanticleers will return to action for the 2023 spring season in the new year.
