CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina football team (8-1, 5-1 Sun Belt) will look to clinch the Sun Belt Conference East Division title on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Brooks Stadium as the Chanticleers will host the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (5-4, 3-2 Sun Belt) for at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be nationally televised on ESPNU and carried on the radio at WRNN Hot Talk 99.5 FM.
It will also be Military Appreciation Day and Senior Night.

WE DID IT AGAIN
• Teal Nation showed its support in record-setting fashion once again on Nov. 3, as a new stadium attendance record was set for Brooks Stadium.
• A record-setting 21,224 fans packed Brooks Stadium for the Thursday night contest between Coastal and App State (Nov. 3).
• The NEW record-setting crowd was the third home sell-out of the season for the Chants.

CELEBRATING 20 SEASONS OF COASTAL FOOTBALL
• Coastal Carolina is celebrating the football program's 20th season this year, having kicked off the inaugural season in 2003.
• In 1999, football was approved to be added to Coastal in 2003.
• Almost 8,000 fans packed Brooks Stadium on Sept. 6, 2003, for the inaugural game of the Chanticleer NCAA I-AA football squad, as CCU used a 97-yard drive to score with seven seconds to play to defeat Newberry 21-14.
RECEIVING VOTES
• Coastal Carolina received votes in both the Associated Press Top 25 and USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches polls this week. The Chants picked up 77 votes in the USA TODAY Sports AVCA Coaches Poll and 46 votes in the AP Top 25 Poll this week.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
• Picked to finish fifth in the West Division in the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, Southern Miss is 5-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play this season.
• The Golden Eagles started their first year in the Sun Belt Conference with a 27-10 road loss at Troy (Oct. 8) before running off three-straight conference wins versus Arkansas State (Oct. 15), at Texas State (Oct. 22), and against Louisiana (Oct. 27).
• However, USM is coming off a 42-14 home loss to Georgia State (Nov. 5) last time out.
• The Southern Miss offense is averaging just 319.9 yards of total offense per game which ranks dead last in the Sun Belt this year.
• USM's top offensive threat with the ball is running back Frank Gore Jr., as he leads the team with 827 all-purpose yards - 742 rushing and 85 receiving - and five rushing touchdowns. He has also completed 2-of-7 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown pass.
• The Golden Eagles have played four different quarterbacks this season with Zach Wilcke and Jake Lange having both played in eight games this year. Wilcke leads the team with 1,163 passing yards and nine touchdown passes.
• The defense has allowed on average 378.8 yards of offense and 24.3 points per game this season, which both rank in the middle of the pack in the Sun Belt.
• The Golden Eagles have picked off 12 interceptions this season, which ranks third in the Sun Belt. They also lead the conference and rank seventh nationally in sacks with 31.
• Malik Shorts leads USM's defense with 71 total tackles and three interceptions, while Dominic Quewon has a team-leading 8.5 tackles-for-loss and 7.5 sacks on the season.

• Coastal Carolina and Southern Miss will be meeting for the first time ever this Saturday, Nov. 12, at Brooks Stadium.

• On Monday, Sept. 19, CCU's game at Georgia State was moved from ESPNU to ESPN2.
• On Monday, Oct. 3, ESPN and the Sun Belt Conference announced that the Chanticleers' home contest versus Old Dominion on Saturday, Oct. 15, would be televised on ESPNU.
• The Chants' contest versus Marshall (Oct. 29) was picked up by the NFL Network, marking the third of now five games to be nationally televised for Coastal this season.
• CCU's home contest on Saturday, Nov. 12, has also been picked up for a national TV audience, as the game will be broadcasted live on ESPNU.
TV CHANTS
• With Saturday night's contest versus Southern Miss (Nov. 12) being broadcasted live on ESPNU, the Chanticleers, better known as #AmericasTeam, will have had a total of 21 games nationally televised since the start of the 2020 season.
• Over those previously 20 nationally-televised contests, the Chanticleers are 17-3 overall, with two losses coming in 2020 and one last year in 2021.
