CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will return to action for a home contest versus the UNCW Seahawks on Sunday, Dec. 18. The opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET inside the HTC Center.
The Chanticleers are 4-5 on the season after dismantling an undermatched Erskine 83-24 home win last time out. UNCW enters play at 2-6 on the year.
LAST TIME OUT
Coastal defeated the Erskine Flying Fleet 83-24 to claim their fourth win of the season all at home. The Chants overpowered the visitors from Due West, S.C., by forcing 37 Flying Fleet turnovers into 39 points and outrebounded their undersized opponents 31-15.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND UNCW
The two teams will be meeting for the 32nd time on Sunday, as Coastal trails in the all-time series with UNCW 23-8, yet the Chanticleers hold a three-game winning streak. The last time the two teams played, CCU claimed a 73-62 road win last season. Coastal Carolina's last home win versus the Seahawks came in November 2017.

The Chants are averaging 74.2 points per game while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 33.2 from three-point range. Defensively, Coastal has allowed 63.8 points per game while its opponents are shooting 40.5 percent from the floor. The Chanticleers have won the rebounding battle at 349-291 this season.
Aja Blount leads three Chants in double-digit scoring with 17.3 points per game, while
Arin Freeman and
Anaya Barney are scoring 10.9 and 10.1, respectively. Aside from scoring, Blount leads the team with 9.4 rebounds per game with Freeman and Barney adding 5.4 and 3.9 boards, respectively.

As a team, UNCW is averaging 57.8 points per contest while allowing 66.1 points per game. The Seahawks have been outshot by its opponent's 43.1 percent to 38.9 percent from the floor. On the year, UNCW has grabbed 293 rebounds, while their opponents have grabbed 270 boards in the eight games played.
Carrie Gross leads the team in scoring with 13.4 points per game, while Mary McMillan and Jayde Gamble have chipped in with 12.2 and 10.4 points per contest, respectively. Lexi Jackson (6.1) and Micah Hoggatt (5.3) lead the Seahawks on the boards, as they both are grabbing more than five rebounds per contest.
