CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will return to the road this week for a Sun Belt Conference matchup with Texas State. The contest between the Chanticleers and Bobcats will take place in San Marcos, Texas, Saturday, Feb. 5, at 3 p.m. ET, with the men's road basketball game against Texas State slated to follow at 6 p.m. ET.
Coastal will look to rebound from back-to-back losses to Appalachian State last weeks. The Chants are 12-6 overall on the season and 2-5 in SBC play, while the Bobcats are 10-11 on the year and 5-4 in SBC play.
The Chanticleers are 2-4 on the road this season, while Texas State is 3-4 at home this year.
COASTAL vs. TEXAS STATE HISTORY
Coastal Carolina holds a 5-4 advantage in the overall series, which began during the 2016-17 season when CCU joined the Sun Belt Conference. The home team holds the advantage in the series, with the Bobcats having a 3-1 lead in San Marcos, while the Chants are undefeated in Conway at 4-0. The two teams have met once in postseason play, with Texas State picking up the victory in the 2017-18 Sun Belt Women's Basketball Championship Tournament.

On the defensive end of the floor, Blount is the team's top rebounder having grabbed 163 boards on the season to average 9.1 boards per game, while both
Janeen Camp and
Janae Camp are second and third on the team with 6.1 and 5.8 rebounds per game, respectively. Senior
Janeen Camp has blocked 33 shots over the season, as the Chants are allowing just 56.3 points per game and holding opponents to a 35.0 shooting percentage.
ABOUT TEXAS STATE
Texas State is averaging 69.1 points per game on the year while shooting 43.7 percent from the floor overall. The Bobcats' offense is led by Da'Nasia Hood with 17.2 points per game, while Kennedy Taylor is chipping in with 10.7 points per contest. Taylor leads the Bobcats with 134 assists, while Jo'Nah Johnson has aided teammates 46 times.
Defensively, Texas State is allowing their opponents to shoot 40.3 percent from the field but surrendering just 64.8 points per game. Hood and Lauryn Thompson are the top rebounders grabbing 153 and 109 rebounds, respectively, while the duo of Kennedy and Hood leads the team with 42 and 33 steals apiece.
