CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina beach volleyball has a new duo this season. The Eske sisters are taking advantage of the time they have together in the sand.

Alyssa Eske left her spot at the University of Illinois, where she was a member of the indoor volleyball team, she knew she wanted to be back on the beach. It was an easy decision for her to choose Coastal as her new home.
Kalin Eske, her sister, would be returning for her last year with the Sandy Chants. The Eske sisters used to play as a pair with High Velocity Beach Club and even played together in high school. Now Alyssa has rejoined Kalin in Conway.
"I actually visited Kalin when she played in Florida, and seeing those top-ranked teams play, my love for beach came back and I decided that this is where I want to be," said Alyssa. "When it came to the recruiting process, Kalin obviously was a big reason for me coming to Coastal. I had gotten to know the coaches over the years, so they were a part of my decision too, but she is the main reason why I'm here."
When asked how this has affected their relationship, Kalin says it has brought them together, and it makes it feel like even more of a family situation when their parents are able to come and visit. Kalin said, "If COVID would have never happened, we never would have been able to play with each other, so it's nice that it worked out that way."
The sisters said they have been called each other's names a couple of times, but it's nothing they can't get used to and laugh about later.
CCU beach volleyball will play their first home match of the season against Tusculum on March 19 at 9 a.m. ET to start the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
