TROY, Ala. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team wrapped up a two-match Sun Belt Conference road trip on Saturday morning in dramatic fashion, as the Chants edged the host Troy Trojans by a 4-3 tally.
 
The men in teal took an early lead by winning two out of the three doubles matches.  Steve Mundt and Carlos Berna Ruiz rolled to a 6-2 win on court three, while Niccolo Rossi and Bastien Huon held off Vito Llinares and Noah Martens 7-5 on court two, clinching the doubles point.
 
In singles play, the Chanticleers and Trojans battled to a three-all deadlock with one match left.  During that stretch, Daiki Tanabe notched a 6-3, 6-1 win over Manuel Bernard on court five, while Diego Giraldo picked up a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) victory against Nicolas Simkin on court three.
 
The spotlight then turned to court one, where Coastal's Huon faced off against Pelayo Antuna.  The clash required all three frames to determine the outcome with Huon scoring a 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 6-2 triumph to seal the victory for CCU.
 
Next up for the Chants (9-9, 2-2 SBC) is a home match against Georgia State on Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m. ET.  That contest will also serve as Senior Day for the Chanticleers.
