Women's Golf Heading to Florida for the 2022 Sun Belt Women's Golf Championship

Chants look to defend their team title
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team will head to Florida to play in the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship scheduled for Sunday-Tuesday, April 17-19, at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Chanticleers will defend their Sun Belt title and look to win their third Sun Belt championship since joining the league in 2016. CCU won titles in 2018 and in 2021.
The LPGA International will once again host the event and will play as a par-72, laid out over 6,193 yards. The teams will tee off with split tees beginning at 8 a.m. ET with six teams starting on hole No. 1 and five on hole No. 10.
The Chants enter the conference tournament as the top-ranked team in the Sun Belt with a 295.69 scoring average, just ahead of South Alabama's 296.83. CCU joins South Alabama and Georgia Southern with two wins on the season, while third-ranked Arkansas State has also picked up a win this season.
The reigning Sun Belt Coach of the Year, Katie Quinney, has set her lineup for the championship which includes Tiffany Arafi, Sara Sarrion, Jenjira Jinangkul, Sophia Carlsen, the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship low-medalist, and Caitlin Evans-Brand.
Arafi is ranked third in the conference heading into the championship with a 73.38 scoring average but is the top player in the conference with three individual wins. No other conference player has more than one. Sarrion is ranked eighth in the conference with a 74.79 scoring average, while Evans-Brand and Carlsen are tied for 13th with a 75.17 scoring average. Jinangkul is ranked 34th with a 76.21 scoring average.
