Elizabeth Metress Joins Pederson’s Staff as Director of Basketball Operations

Coastal Carolina women’s basketball head coach Kevin Pederson adds final

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University women's basketball head coach Kevin Pederson announced the final member of his staff on Monday, hiring Elizabeth Metress as the new Director of Basketball Operations. Metress will begin her role immediately with the Chanticleers for the 2022-23 season.

"We are excited to complete our staff with the hiring of Liz. Aside from being a basketball junkie through and through, she is the daughter of a very successful coach, so she gets everything about this job," stated Pederson. "She brings with her a valuable skill set she learned while working for Joni Taylor at Georgia for the last five years and we have no doubt her experience will benefit our program. We think Liz will do an outstanding job working with our staff, the Coastal athletic administration and our student-athletes."

Metress comes to Conway after spending the last five years working with the Georgia Bulldogs women's basketball programs as both a student manager and graduate assistant coach. She began her career as a student manager in 2017 until 2020 when she was promoted to a graduate assistant coach.

From 2015 to 2019 she worked as a basketball camp counselor with Big G Enterprises, Augusta University, Grovetown High School, and the University of Georgia. Metress was a volunteer assistant coach for the Georgia Sting (2016-17) and Columbia Middle School (2014-16) where she mentored young girls on and off the basketball court and supervised study halls before practices.
