CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will bring its preseason work to an end on Saturday, Aug. 13, as the Chanticleers will host High Point in exhibition play at 7 p.m. ET at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
The exhibition will be the second and final preseason match for the Chanticleers after downing Winthrop 4-1 on Wednesday night. Coastal had 24 different Chants see action against the Eagles, with several earning their first minutes in a CCU uniform.
Senior
Megan Brouse tallied her first brace as the Phoenix, Ariz., native recorded goals in the 19th and 23rd minutes. Winthrop cut the Chants' lead in half, as Chela Parris made the score 2-1 just before the break.
Casey O'Connor increased the host's lead to 3-1 in the 58th minute followed by a
Julia Ziegenfuss goal in the 79th to make the score 4-1.
Coastal will begin regular-season action on Thursday, Aug. 28, as the Chants will host Jacksonville at 7 p.m. ET before hitting the road for two consecutive contests.
