CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina continued its second week of preseason fall camp on Tuesday morning, going full pads for the first time this fall.
The competition ramped up in practice No. 6, as the team went a total of 23 periods in just over two and a half hours on the Fowler Turf Field.
After a walk-thru and then a team stretch, the Chanticleers opened up the session with three periods of special teams before taking a break prior to two more periods of group work, which saw the offense going head-to-head with the defense across the line of scrimmage as well as in 1-on-1 competitions on the skill positions.
Following another quick break, the team split into their position groups to work on individual skills and techniques before shifting into three periods of 7-on-7 drills.
The two-plus hour practice ended with five periods of team work focusing on red zone offense and defense, third and short, and two-minute drills.
Coastal will kick off the 2022 football season at home on Saturday, Sept. 3, versus Army at 7 p.m. ET.
