CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team's defensive specialist
Lina Perugini was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her play at the College of Charleston Invitational last weekend. It is the second weekly conference award and first of the 2022 season for Perugini.
The senior libero tallied a league-best 65 digs (5.42 digs per set) over the weekend in leading her team to a 2-1 record at the CofC Invitational. Perugini finished with a season-high 33 digs in the weekend's opening match against the Wofford Terriers.
On the season, the Bethlehem, Pa., native ranks third in the Sun Belt and 46th nationally in digs per set with 4.65, while totaling 144 digs on the year.
Coastal Carolina will return to action tonight at 6 p.m. ET as the Chanticleers will host in-state foe College of Charleston at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C.
