CCU freshman Maurice Hauser evened the score at 1-1 just a minute later, when the Bruggen, Germany, native received a pass from fellow teammate Noe Santoswho picked up the cross from Noah Glorioso for his third goal in as many contests for the Chanticleers.

Following the break, UNCG was awarded a corner kick that Marco Afonso sent into the box that found the head of Emmanuel Hagan in the 52nd minute to give the Spartans a 2-1 advantage. The Spartans continued the scoring as Hernandez tallied his second goal of the night in the 54th minute to make the score 3-1 in favor of the home team.

The Spartans' Hernandez completed the hat-trick as he found the empty net in the 72nd minute to give UNCG a 4-1 advantage. A diving header from Maycol Reyes with just 10 minutes left to play, tacked on the Spartans' final goal of the night to make the score 5-1.
