SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's cross country teams continued their strong run of performances today at the Upstate Invitational, hosted by USC Upstate. 

The field for this weekend's meet featured 27 participating schools in the women's event and 27 in the men's, including conference-rivals Appalachian State, Georgia State, and James Madison. 

Overall, the women's team finished 10th in the 5k event and the men's team took home ninth in the 8k, with average times of 18:20 and 25:57, respectively. 

The Lady Chants finished with two of the top three runners, with senior Molly Jones finishing first at 16:53 and redshirt junior Ellie Wolski taking third at 17:06. 

Today's win marks the third top-place finish for Jones in her final year for the Chanticleers. 

Junior Amilia Wise-Sweat finished 43rd at 18:31, with freshmen Erin McQuitty in 111th at 19:28, Megan Dolan in 129th at 19:44, Olivia Goeser in 132nd at 19:45, and Mary Kathryn Huddleston in 147th at 19:52.  

On the men's side, senior Nehemiah Cionelo once again led the Chants on the individual leaderboard, coming in 33rd at 25:23.  

Juniors Trey Kraimer and Julian John came in 70th and 73rd with times of 25:58 and 26:06. Freshmen Adam Groves and Sterling Sellier rounded out the top-100 for the Chants, finishing in 77th and 80th, with times of 26:07 and 26:09, respectively. 

Next up, the Chants will travel to Foley, Alabama for the Sun Belt Championships on October 28th, starting at 11 a.m. ET.
