Men’s Soccer Concludes Season with One of Nation’s Toughest Schedules

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer schedule concludes one of the toughest schedules in the nation with two of the top five ranked opponents in the NCAA this month.
Coastal took a 3-2 victory over No. 12 James Madison earlier this year (Sept. 23) at the CCU Soccer Stadium with the help of goals from three different Chants in Deryn Armstrong, Noe Santos, and Louis Bock. Senior Armstrong continued his scoring ways when he bagged Coastal's lone goal versus the No. 1 Marshall Thundering Herd on Friday, Oct.13.
The Chants are set for another challenging week as they take on No. 2 UCF on the road on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. ET, followed by hosting No. 5 West Virginia on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. ET at the CCU Soccer Stadium.
CCU has a 26-31-8 overall record versus ranked opponents and will be looking to improve on its 7-15-4 record versus Top 10 opponents this week.
"We have begun the most difficult three-game schedule in the country, in this young team's career, and also in my career," stated head coach Shaun Docking. "When you play the three of the top five teams in the country in the space of eight days, it certainly presents an exciting and fun and challenge. It is such a great testament to the Sun Belt Conference. It is the premier conference in the country to be playing men's soccer in!"
