CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will host Sun Belt Conference leader South Alabama for a midweek match at the CCU Soccer Stadium on Oct. 19. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
 
Chant Talk
	- CCU has a 3-9-2, 0-5-2 Sun Belt record this season.
- Defender Maggie Mace has been an anchor on CCU's backline, playing the full 90 minutes in all but one of Coastal's matches. The sophomore was also the Chants' savior last time out versus Troy when she scored the game-tying goal in the 87th minute.
- First year head coach Jo Chubb is on the hunt for her first Sun Belt Conference win of the career.
- Coastal have been out-fouled in 10 of its 14 matches and have tied in fouls on three occasions.
- Rocio Fernandez notched her first assist on the season to help the Chants tie up the match versus Troy.

Last Time Out
	- Coastal battled to a 2-2 tie versus the Troy Trojans on Oct. 14.
- The Chants took the lead in the 63rd minute when Julia Ziegenfuss knocked in her first goal of the season off an assist from Tamlyn Parkes.
- The Trojans tallied two goals back in quick succession in the 66th and 69th minute to take a 2-1 lead.
- CCU fought back and equalized in the 87th minute when Fernandez whipped the ball in from the corner spot to find Mace who leveled the score at 2-2.
Scouting the Opponent
	- South Alabama has a 12-0-3, 5-0-2 Sun Belt record and place first in the Sun Belt rankings.
- Their three ties have come against Mississippi State (Sept. 7), and conference opponents Southern Miss (Sept. 17) and ULM (Oct. 1).
- Eight of the Panther's wins have been shutouts, including a season-high 8-0 victory over Alcorn State (Aug. 20).
- South Alabama have had three Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week winners in Gabby Hollar (Aug. 29), Jasmine Greene (Sept. 25), and Chiara Singarella(Oct. 10).
- The Panthers lead the Sun Belt with 42 goals on the season, 10 of which have come off Hollar's boot which places her tied for 20th in the NCAA. 
- Singarella follows closely behind with seven goals and four other Panthers have each tallied three or more goals this season.
History Against
	- Coastal has a 2-8-0 record versus the Panthers and is looking to snap its two-match losing streak.
- CCU's last win versus South Alabama came in October 2020 when the Chants took a 2-1 victory.
- Both of CCU's wins have come on the road versus the Panthers and Coastal's record sits at 2-3 in Mobile, Ala.
- The Chants have been outshot 27-10 over their 10 encounters with the Panthers.
