CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's basketball program will be back in action as the Chants will host North Carolina Central on Sunday, Nov. 26, at the HTC Center in a 2 p.m. ET matinee.
The game is CCU's fifth consecutive home game in a present nine-game homestand. The Chants enter the game with a 1-3 record, while the Eagles are 3-4.
LAST TIME OUT
The Chants lost to Wichita State, Furman, and the College of Charleston in the Myrtle Beach Invitational. The Chants held leads in each game as there were eight lead changes against Wichita State, three lead changes against Furman, and six lead changes against the College of Charleston.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
The will be the seventh meeting between the two teams with the Chants winning the six previous outings. The series started back in 2010 with the first game being played at North Carolina Central.
Each of the six games have been played during Head Coach
Cliff Ellis' tenure at CCU and several of the contests have been extremely close, including a 78-71 CCU win in 2020, the last time the two teams met. The Chants actually trailed 71-70 with just 1:16 left in the game, but scored the final eight points of the contest to pull out the win.
CCU also has a three-point win in 2016 (70-67) and a four-point win in 2018 (69-65).

The Chants have four players averaging double figures led by freshman
Jacob Meyers and junior
Kylan Blackmon, who are each averaging 14.3 points per game.
Kevin Easley is averaging 14.0 points per game followed by
John Ojiako's 11.0 points per game. He is also the leader in rebounding averaging 8.5 per outing.
CCU is averaging over 79 points per game and shooting 44.0 percent from the field and a solid 36.7 percent on its three-point attempts. The Chants are also out rebounding their opponents by almost seven per game (43.8–37.0).
ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
NCCU has four losses coming into today's game with those losses coming at No. 1 Kansas, at Georgia, at Longwood and against the Citadel.
The Eagles have three wins entering the game including a tough 78-75 overtime win at Campbell.
Po'Boigh King leads NCCU in scoring averaging 14.7 points per game, followed by Ja'Darius Harris who is averaging 14.6 points per game. Fred Cleveland, Jr., is also scoring in double figures averaging 13.9 points per game.
