CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's basketball program will host St. Andrews University on Monday, Dec. 4, at the HTC Center at 7 p.m. ET. It will be the Chanticleers second game in three days and fourth game in nine days.
LAST TIME OUT
The Chants fell to Winthrop 90-87 Saturday night in a game which featured six ties and 13 lead changes. The Chants had a chance to send the game into overtime but a late three bounced away.
Five Chants scored in double-digits led by
Kylan Blackmon's 20 points
. Kevin Easley and
Jimmy Nichols each added 15, while
Jacob Meyer scored 10.
John Ojiako added 14 points and 10 rebounds for his third consecutive double-double for the Chants.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND ST. ANDREWS
The two teams have met only once and that was back during the 2017 season, a 70-34 Chanticleer victory.
ABOUT COASTAL
CCU enters the action with a 2-5 record and Easley leads the team in scoring averaging 13.3 points per game.
Kylan Blackmon is the only Chant to score 20 or more points in two games this season. He scored 23 in the season-opener against Piedmont and added a 20-point outing against Winthrop. He averages 13.1 points per game and his 17 three-point field goals is a team-high.
Freshman
Jacob Meyer has reached double digits in six of the seven games this season and is averaging 12.7 points per game.
John Ojiako has three consecutive double-double outings and is now averaging 11.9 points per game and a Sun Belt Conference-leading 9.6 rebounds per game.
ABOUT ST. ANDREWS
The Knights are 3-6 entering tonight's action. After starting the season with two wins, St. Andrews has now dropped its last three games.
Senior Xzavier McFadden is averaging 13.6 points per game to lead St. Andrews and his 27 assists are a team-best.
Jalen Mcafee-Marion is scoring at a 13.0 points per game clip and he has a team-leading 27 assists. Seth Smith is the third-leading scorer averaging 12.2 points per game and has 14 three-point field goals, while Quwan Barnes leads the Knights in rebounding averaging 6.6 per game.
