CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will return to the road for a matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Wednesday, Dec. 6. The opening tip is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. ET at the Coleman Coliseum and will be streamed on SECN+.

Coastal's
Deaja Richardson has recorded 985 career points and 781 points in the Teal and Bronze. The Kernersville, N.C., native needs just 15 points to reach the 1,000-career points milestone and 219 points to become the 19th Chanticleer to reach the 1,000-point mark.
LAST TIME OUT
The Chanticleers fell to the College of Charleston 84-83 at home in overtime. Coastal's Richardson and
Alancia Ramsey led the Chants offense with 23 points each, while
Makaila Cange and
Arin Freeman were the only other Chants in double digit scoring with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Cange was the top rebounder having grabbed 12 boards, while Ramsey pulled down 11 rebounds as they both recorded double-doubles.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND ALABAMA
Coastal Carolina this is the first-ever meeting between the two programs and the first Southeast Conference team of the year.
ABOUT COASTAL
Coastal Carolina enters the matchup 4-4 on the year. The Chants are averaging 67.4 points per game while shooting 38.8 percent from the field and 26.4 percent from three-point range. Defensively, Coastal has allowed 71.5 points per game, while opponents have a 42.1 shooting percentage from the floor and 34.4 percentage from behind the three-point arc. The Crimson Tide enters the contest with a 7-2 overall record. As a team, Alabama is averaging 74.6 points per contest while shooting 44.8 percent from the floor and 31.6 percent from three-point range. Defensively, the Crimson Tide has allowed just 53.3 points per contest and its opponents to shoot 37.0 percent from the field and just 28.8 percent from behind the arch. The Tide has won the rebound battle 345-290.
Sarah Ashlee Barker, Aaliyah Nye, and Jessica Timmons are scoring in double digits with 15.6, 12.0, and 10.8 points per game, respectively, while Essence Cody and Loyal McQueen are close to double digits with 9.1 points per game each. Alabama's top rebounder is Cody with 7.7 boards per game with Barker has grabbed 5.6 rebounds per game.
