CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will return to the HTC Center this week for Sun Belt Conference matchups with Arkansas State (Feb. 2) and Appalachian State (Feb. 4). The tip-off versus the Red Wolves on Thursday night is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, while Coastal and App State will begin at noon ET on Saturday afternoon.
The Chanticleers are 10-11 overall on the season and 5-5 in Sun Belt Conference play after falling 78-64 on the road to the Old Dominion Monarchs last Saturday.
The Arkansas State Red Wolves enter this week's action at 8-11 overall and 2-4 in the conference, while the Mountaineers currently sit at 8-13 overall and 4-6 in Sun Belt play.

Coastal's
Deaja Richardson scored a game-high 18 points to lead three Chanticleers in double-digit scoring versus the Monarchs.
Aja Blount and
Arin Freeman chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively. CCU opened the contest by going 6-of-22 from the floor in the first-half action and committed a total of 26 turnovers in the road loss.

The Chants lead the all-time series at 5-4, as the two teams will be meeting for the 10th time on the hardwood. The last time the two teams played, Coastal claimed a 91-76 Sun Belt Conference tournament win over the Red Wolves last season.

The two teams will be meeting for the 21st time on Saturday, as the Mountaineers lead the all-time series at 13-7. Coastal Carolina is currently on a six-game skid against Appalachian State, which includes an 81-74 loss in Boone, N.C., earlier this season.
ABOUT COASTAL
The Chants are averaging 69.7 points per game while shooting 41.0 percent from the field and 33.0 from three-point range. Defensively, Coastal has allowed 66.8 points per game while its opponents are shooting 40.6 percent from the floor.
Forward Blount leads the Chants in double-digit scoring with 15.8 points per game, while guards Freeman, Richardson,
Angie Juste-Jean, and
Anaya Barney are scoring 11.4, 10.6, 8.6, and 8.6 points, respectively. Freeman leads the Chants in both assists and takeaways with 4.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Aside from scoring, Blount leads the team with 7.9 rebounds per game, with Freeman and Barney adding 4.8 and 4.1 boards, respectively.

As a team, A-State is averaging 65.2 points per contest while allowing over 70.3 points per game. Arkansas State has been outshot by its opponents at 41.5 percent to 36.8 percent from the floor. On the year, the Red Wolves have been outrebounded by their opponents by two boards per game at 39.7 to 41.1 rebounds per game.
Izzy Higginbottom leads the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game, while Lauryn Pendleton (12.3), Anna Griffin (8.8), and Keya Patton (8.4) are scoring more than eight points per game. Griffin leads the team with 7.9 rebounds per game, while Melodie Kapinga has grabbed an average of 7.3 boards per contest.
ABOUT APP STATE
The Mountaineers are averaging just 68.9 points per contest while allowing 70.5 points per game. Appalachian State has been outshot by its opponents at 39.8 percent to 41.8 percent from the floor. On the year, the Mountaineers have been outrebounded by their opponents 851-750 in the 21 games to date.
Janay Sanders (14.0), Emily Carver (12.8), and Faith Alston (10.2) lead App State in scoring as the trio are all averaging over 10 points per game. Brooke Bigott is the Mountaineers' top rebounder averaging 4.7 boards per game, while Carver (4.4), Alston (4.3), and Lauren Carter (4.2) have grabbed more than four rebounds per game this season.
