Men's Golf Heads to Texas for the 2023 Border Olympics

Chants will face a challenging 17-team field
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's golf team will continue its spring schedule when the Chanticleers travel to Laredo, Texas, to play in the 2023 Border Olympics on Feb. 13-14 at the Laredo Country Club.
The University of Houston will host 16 other teams at the two-day event, which will consist of 54 holes. The field is scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday on the par-72, 7,375 yards course.
Other teams joining the Chanticleers and host Cougars are Baylor, Bowling Green, Houston Christian, Illinois State, Lamar, Lipscomb, Louisiana Tech, Miami (OH), Michigan, New Mexico State, Rice, Sam Houston State, ULM, Western Carolina, and Wright State.
After last week's solid fifth-place finish at The Hayt, head coach Jacob Wilner will use that same Chanticleer lineup with Trey Crenshaw, Seth Taylor, Garrett Cooper, Owen Kim, and Tyler Gray.
"The Border Olympics is one of the nation's longest-running events," Wilner said. "We get to compete against some schools that we haven't seen this year, which is always a good thing. Our guys are looking forward to getting back to competition after a quick turnaround from our trip to Florida."
