CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will wrap up its road portion of the 2022-23 season with a pair of Sun Belt Conference matchups this week versus Troy (Feb. 16) and Georgia Southern (Feb. 18). The tip-off versus the Trojans on Thursday is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, while Coastal and the Eagles will begin at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
The Chanticleers are 11-14 overall on the season and 6-8 in Sun Belt Conference play after falling 80-68 to the Southern Miss Lady Eagles last Saturday in Hattiesburg, Miss.
The Troy Trojans enter this week's action at 16-9 overall and 11-3 in the conference, while Georgia Southern currently sits at 16-7 overall and 8-6 in Sun Belt play.

Deaja Richardson scored a team-high 21 points to lead three Chanticleers in double-digit scoring in the road loss to Southern Miss in the first-ever meeting between the two squads.

Coastal Carolina trails Troy 11-3 in the all-time series, as the two teams will be meeting for the 15th time in Sun Belt Conference action. The last time the two teams played, the Chants got knocked out of the 2022 Sun Belt Women's Basketball Championship Tournament 99-77 by the Trojans.

The Chants are averaging 69.1 points per game while shooting 40.7 percent from the field and 32.5 from three-point range. Defensively, Coastal has allowed 67.3 points per game while its opponents are shooting 40.5 percent from the floor.
Forward Blount leads the Chants in double-digit scoring with 16.4 points per game, while guards Richardson,
Arin Freeman,
Angie Juste-Jean, and Barney are scoring 12.3, 10.0, 8.1, and 8.0 points, respectively. Freeman leads the Chants in both assists and takeaways with 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Aside from scoring, Blount leads the team with 8.1 rebounds per game, with Freeman and Barney adding 4.6 and 3.8 boards, respectively.

As a team, Troy is averaging 84.3 points per contest while allowing 77.4 points per game. The Trojans have been outshot by their opponents at 39.0 percent to 40.0 percent from the floor. On the year, Troy has outrebounded its opponents by over seven boards per game at 51.6 to 43.8 rebounds per game.
Makayla Hallmon leads the team in scoring with 14.3 points per game, while Nia Daniel (13.3), Ja'Mia Hollings (12.7), and Tai'Sheka Porchia (12.6) are scoring more than 12 points per game. Hollings leads the team with 8.2 rebounds per game, while Amber Leggett and Porchia have grabbed an average of 7.6 and 7.3 boards per contest, respectively.
ABOUT GEORGIA SOUTHERN
The Eagles are averaging 82.4 points per contest while holding their opponents to 70.7 points per game. Georgia Southern has outshot its opponents at 43.5 percent to 37.6 percent from the floor. On the year, the Eagles have outrebounded their opponents 1,079-914 in the 23 games to date.
Terren Ward (18.3) is the only Georgia Southern player in double-digit scoring, as Taya Gibson (9.9) and Le'Andrea Gillis (9.1) are just shy of averaging in double digits. Aside from scoring, Ward leads the Eagles in rebounds at 8.0 boards per game, while Gibson and Lydia Freeman have grabbed 6.0 and 5.2 rebounds per game this season, respectively.
