Women's Golf Heads to Georgia for the Valspar Invite

Chants looking to build on Rivertowne Invitational finish
CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team will jump back into action when they travel to Augusta, Ga., for the Valspar Augusta Invitational scheduled for March 12-13 at the Forest Hills Golf Club.
The highly competitive 14-team field will feature six teams ranked among the top-25 teams in the nation. Leading that group is second-ranked Wake Forest. Other nationally ranked teams are Florida State (12th), Oklahoma State (16th), Ole Miss (18th), Florida (21st), and Duke (24th).
Other teams joining the Chants in the field will be Augusta, the annual host of the event, along with Alabama, Furman, fellow Sun Belt Conference member Georgia Southern, Minnesota, South Florida, and Virginia Tech.
The Chants opened the spring season two weeks ago with a tie for 12th place finish at the Rivertowne Invitational.
Head coach Katie Quinney continues to work with a relatively young and inexperienced lineup as she will use Sara Sarrion, Isabella Galla, Luisa Gibson, Maika Llarena, and Clare Gimpel at this week's invitational
The two-day, 54-hole event is scheduled for a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. ET and will consist of 36 holes of action on the first day on Saturday, followed by the third and final 18 holes on Sunday.
