• CCU is coming off a 2-1 conference series win at James Madison (March 17-19) last weekend, in which the Chants outscored the Dukes 22-12.
• The Chanticleers are 10-4 at home this season in non-conference play.
• In the Chants' 12 wins this season, they have scored double-digit runs in 10 of them and have averaged 14.8 runs over those 11 wins on the year.
• As a team, the Chants are hitting .316 overall, which ranks 23rd in all of NCAA Division I baseball, as nine different players are hitting over .300 on the season.
• Coastal's pitching staff has struck out 191 hitters compared to just 89 walks this season and posted an average of 10.7 strikeouts per nine innings on the year, which ranks 32nd nationally.

ABOUT THE BOBCATS
• Texas State enters the weekend at 15-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play, having taken two of three games from No. 25 Southern Miss at home last weekend (March 17-19).
• The Bobcats are riding a four-game winning streak into Conway, S.C., and have won eight of their last nine games, including wins over No. 11 TCU (March 14), two wins over No. 25 Southern Miss (March 18 & 19), and a pair of midweek wins over Texas A&M - Corpus Christi (March 21) and Houston Christian (March 22).
• Offensively, the Bobcats are hitting .281 overall as a team but have used the long ball this year, as they are third in the SBC in home runs with 44 overall.
• Texas State's pitching staff has struck out 203 batters, which is fourth in the Sun Belt this season and are holding its opponents to a .268 batting average overall.

ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY WITH TEXAS STATE
• The Chanticleers are 9-5 overall versus Texas State on the baseball diamond, as the two teams first met as Sun Belt Conference foes in 2017.
• Coastal is a perfect 7-0 versus the Bobcats at Springs Brooks Stadium, including a 13-4 win in the first round of the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championship Tournament.
• In conference regular-season play, the Chants hold an 8-4 edge over the Bobcats, which includes back-to-back three-game series sweeps of the Bobcats in 2018 and 2021 in Conway, S.C.
• Against the Bobcats in a stadium other than Springs Brooks Stadium, the Chants are just 2-5 with four losses in San Marcos, Texas, and one neutral site loss in Statesboro, Ga., at the 2017 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championships.

SOMETHING HAS GOT TO GIVE
• The Chanticleers and Bobcats both enter the Sun Belt Conference three-game weekend series at 2-1 in league play having both taken two out of three games in their opening conference series last weekend (March 17-19).
• Coastal won its last game, a 3-1 win at James Madison (March 19), and is 8-2 over its last 10 games entering the weekend versus the Bobcats.
• Texas State is riding a four-game winning streak and is also 8-2 over its last 10 games heading into the three-game series in Conway, S.C.

SERIES WIN TO START CONFERENCE PLAY
• For the sixth time in the last seven seasons, the Chants opened Sun Belt Conference play on the road with a three-game series at James Madison (March 17-19) last weekend.
• With CCU taking two out of the three games, the Chants improved to 11-6-1 all-time on Sun Belt Conference opening weekends, including two sweeps.

LEAVE YOUR BROOMS AT HOME
• CCU has been consistently good on weekends at home inside Springs Brooks Stadium.
• Last season, the Chanticleers were swept at home in a three-game series by Georgia State (April 8-10, 2022).
• With the three losses, CCU was on the losing end of a three-game sweep at home for the only time in 2022 and just the second time in the last two years, having been swept by Troy at home May 7-9, 2021.
• Prior to the two sweeps at home over the last two years, the Chanticleers were last swept at home in a three-game series in 2000 versus Kent State on March 24-26, 2000.

SHOWING NO LOVE TO SBC AT #THEPALACE
• CCU has not been nice to its visiting Sun Belt Conference members in regular-season play at Spring Brooks Stadium since joining the league in 2017.
• Coastal is 42-24-2 in Sun Belt Conference regular-season games at home inside Springs Brooks Stadium (aka #ThePalace).
• Since joining the league in 2017, the Chants have won 14 of 23 conference series, which includes nine three-game sweeps.
• Oddly enough, the Chants have also tied two home series at 1-1-1 (Louisiana in 2017 and ULM in 2022) and thus have only lost seven home conference series as members of the Sun Belt.
