CONWAY, S.C. – Ranked for the first time this season, the No. 19 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will kick off a five-game road trip at No. 13 North Carolina on Tuesday, March 28, at 4 p.m. ET at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C.

• Due to expected inclement weather on Tuesday evening, the start time for the non-conference game between No. 19 Coastal Carolina and No. 13 North Carolina was moved up to 4 p.m. ET. It was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. ET.

ABOUT THE CHANTS
• Coastal Carolina enters the midweek road contest this week at 14-7 overall.
• CCU is coming off a 2-1 conference series win at home versus (RV) Texas State (March 24-25) and has won five of its last seven games.
• The Chanticleers are 2-2 in road games this season and 2-2 in midweek contests.
• In the Chants' 14 wins this season, they have scored double-digit runs in 12 of them and have averaged 15.0 runs over those 12 wins on the year.
• As a team, the Chants are hitting .325 overall, which ranks ninth in all of NCAA Division I baseball, as nine different players are hitting over .300 on the season.
• Coastal's pitching staff has struck out 234 hitters compared to just 103 walks this season and leads the Sun Belt Conference and ranks 10th nationally with an 11.3 strikeouts per nine innings average on the year.
ABOUT THE TAR HEELS
• North Carolina is 18-6 overall on the season and 16-5 at home inside Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C.
• The Tar Heels have won seven of their last eight games and are 9-0 in midweek play this year.
• Offensively, the Tar Heels are hitting .301 overall and lead the ACC and rank seventh nationally in all of NCAA with 51 home runs.
• UNC's offense also ranks 13th in the NCAA in slugging percentage (.559), 20th in doubles (56), 21st in runs scored (213), and 22nd in scoring (8.9 runs per game).
• North Carolina's pitching staff has posted a 3.59 ERA on the season, which ranks 20th in all of NCAA D1 baseball, and has a 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings average on the year with 229 strikeouts compared to just 95 walks allowed.
ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY WITH NORTH CAROLINA
• The Chanticleers are just 20-47 all-time versus the North Carolina Tar Heels.
• Coastal is a 7-13 all-time at home versus the Tar Heels but is just 13-33 overall against them in Chapel Hill, N.C.
• Last season, the Tar Heels swept the Chanticleers in a non-conference three-game series on March 4-6 in Boshamer Stadium. However, each game was close, as the Chants fell 4-3 in game one, 4-0 in game two, and lost in an extra-inning walk-off win 4-3 in the series finale.
• CCU's last win over the Tar Heels came in a midweek contest at Boshamer Stadium, as the Chanticleers defeated UNC 6-3 on April 20, 2021.
RANK'EM
• For the first time this season, the Chanticleers were ranked in a national top-25 poll (March 27).
• Coastal came in this week at No. 19 in the latest D1Baseball Top 25 Rankings and came in at No. 28 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division I poll.
• The Chanticleers had been receiving votes in several polls this season, including in the Collegiate Baseball Poll, the USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches poll, the NCBWA Division I Poll, and the Perfect Game College Top 25.
COMMON FOES
• The Chanticleers and Tar Heels have played one common foe this season in the VCU Rams.
• Coastal fell to the Rams 4-2 in the final game of the Baseball at the Beach event presented by VisitMyrtleBeach.com on Opening Weekend (Feb. 19).
• UNC posted back-to-back midweek home wins over VCU on Feb. 28 and March 1 by scores of 10-4 and 14-10, respectively.
VERSUS RANKED TEAMS
• Coastal has played three nationally-ranked top-25 teams so far this season in No. 21 NC State (Feb. 22), No. 2/5 Wake Forest (March 7), and No. 19 Campbell (March 14).
• The Chanticleers are 2-1 versus top 25 ranked teams this season.
• Coastal suffered a 16-5 midweek home loss to then-No. 21 NC State on Feb. 22 at Springs Brooks Stadium.
• CCU won a wild one by the score of 13-11 in a midweek home contest versus then-No. 2/5 Wake Forest on March 7 at Springs Brooks Stadium.
• The Chants outslugged then-No. 19 Campbell 12-9 on March 14 in a game that saw a combined seven home runs leave the ballpark.
VERSUS THE ACC
• CCU's matchup with North Carolina will mark the third of four Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponents that the Chanticleers will take on this season.
• Coastal played NC State out of the ACC in a midweek contest on Feb. 22 and fellow ACC member Wake Forest on March 7.
• The Chants are also scheduled to play two games versus Clemson (April 4 & May 10), another one versus Wake Forest (April 25), and one more contest with North Carolina (May 16).
• Entering Tuesday's tilt, Coastal is 1-1 versus the ACC this season with a 16-4 loss to NC State (Feb. 22) and a 13-11 win over Wake Forest (March 7).
MIDWEEK MATCHUPS
• Coastal Carolina's Tuesday contest with North Carolina will be the fifth midweek game of the season for the Chanticleers.
• The Chanticleers have 14 midweek contests scheduled this season with regional teams across South Carolina and North Carolina.
• Last season, CCU went 6-4 overall in midweek regular season games, including going 4-0 at home.
• CCU is 2-2 this season in midweek contests with wins over then-No. 2/5 Wake Forest (13-11) and then-No. 19/23 Campbell (12-9) and losses to then-No. 21 NC State (16-4) and at the College of Charleston (4-3).
VERSUS THE TAR HEEL STATE IN 2023
• This season, the Chanticleers have fared well against teams from the Tar Heel State.
• The Chanticleers are 5-1 overall versus schools from the state of North Carolina, including having won five-straight contests.
• CCU suffered a loss to NC State (Feb. 22), but since defeated Davidson (March 3-5) in three games, Wake Forest (March 7), and Campbell (March 14).
FIRST OF FIVE
• Tuesday night's tilt at North Carolina will be the first of five consecutive road games for the Chanticleers over the next week and a half.
• The five-game road swing, which is tied for the longest of the season for the Chants, includes stops at North Carolina (March 28), Georgia State (March 31-April 2), and Clemson (April 4).
