CONWAY, S.C. – A pair of winning streaks will be on the line at Springs Brooks Stadium on Tuesday, March 7, as the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers welcome No. 2/5 nationally-ranked Wake Forest to Conway, S.C., for a non-conference midweek contest.
The Chanticleers have won three-straight games enter the week, while Wake Forest is a perfect 13-0 overall on the season.

ABOUT THE CHANTS
• Coastal Carolina is 7-4 overall this season and is coming off a three-game weekend series sweep at home over Davidson (March 3-5).
• In the three-game sweep of the Wildcats, the Chanticleers totaled 45 runs, including a season-high 26 runs in a 26-5 win over Davidson on Saturday (March 4).
• The Chanticleers are 0-2 thus far this season in midweek games with losses to then-No. 21 NC State (Feb. 22) and at the College of Charleston (Feb. 28).
• As a team, the Chants are hitting .338 overall, which ranks 10th in all of NCAA Division I baseball, as 10 different players are hitting over .300 on the season.
• In the Chants' seven wins this season, they have scored double-digit runs in six of them and are averaging 14.0 runs per game in those victories.
• Coastal's pitching staff has struck out 123 hitters compared to just 56 walks this season and posted an average of 11.3 strikeouts per nine innings on the year, which ranks 28th nationally.
ABOUT THE DEMON DEACONS
• Wake Forest enters the week of play at 13-0 overall, including a 12-0 record at home at David F. Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem, N.C.
• The Demon Deacons' offense is one of the best in the country this season, as they lead the nation in walks (111), on-base percentage (.487), and runs scored (158).
• The offense also ranks second in all of NCAA DI in hits (156), second in scoring (12.2 runs per game), third in home runs (31), sixth in batting average (.348), and seventh in slugging percentage (.623).
• Wake Forest has also one of the best pitching staffs in the nation, as the Demon Deacon arms are first in the NCAA in both WHIP (0.81) and strikeouts per nine innings (13.9) and second in ERA (1.80) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.59) on the year.
ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY WITH WAKE FOREST
• The Chanticleers hold a 26-15 advantage over the Demon Deacons in the all-time series, including having won eight of the last nine meetings.
• Coastal and Wake Forest split the home-and-home series last season, as CCU defeated WFU 4-3 in Conway on March 8, 2022, but fell on the road at Wake Forest 8-4 on March 30, 2022.
• Overall, the Chants are 18-9 at home in Conway, S.C., and have won each of the last six meetings at Springs Brooks Stadium.

• Coastal Carolina head coach
Gary Gilmore reached another career milestone this season, as the Chants' 12-5 win over Davidson on Sunday, March 5, was his 1,300th career win as a collegiate head coach.
• With his 1,300th career win, Gilmore becomes one of just 28 coaches in all of NCAA Baseball to win 1,300 games or more for their coaching career.
VERSUS RANKED TEAMS
• No. 2/5 nationally-ranked Wake Forest is the second nationally-ranked top 25 team that the Chanticleers will play this season.
• The Demon Deacons are ranked as high as No. 2 in both the Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA polls and No. 5 in the D1Baseball.com/NCAA poll.
• Coastal suffered a 16-5 midweek home loss to then-No. 21 NC State on Feb. 22 at Springs Brooks Stadium.
VERSUS THE ACC
• CCU's matchup with Wake Forest will mark the second of four Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponents that the Chanticleers will take on this season.
• Coastal played NC State out of the ACC two weeks ago in a midweek contest on Feb. 22.
• The Chants are also scheduled to play two games versus Clemson (April 4 & May 10), another one versus Wake Forest (April 25), and two more contests with North Carolina (March 28 & May 16).
• Entering Tuesday's tilt, Coastal is 0-1 versus the ACC this season with a 16-4 loss to NC State (Feb. 22).
SPRING BREAK STAYCATION
• Coastal Carolina University's Spring Break is March 4-12; however, the Coastal Carolina baseball team will use it as a staycation.
• Over Spring Break, the Chants will host seven home games with three contests versus Davidson (March 3-5), a midweek matchup versus No. 2/5 Wake Forest (March 7), and three games versus Illinois (March 10-12).
• The Chanticleers are off to a 3-0 start on Spring Break with a sweep of Davidson (March 3-5) last weekend.
MIDWEEK MATCHUPS
• Coastal Carolina's Tuesday contest with Wake Forest will be the third midweek game of the season for the Chanticleers.
• The Chanticleers have 14 midweek contests scheduled this season with regional teams across South Carolina and North Carolina.
• Last season, CCU went 6-4 overall in midweek regular season games, including going 4-0 at home.
• CCU is 0-2 this season midweek contests with losses to then-No. 21 NC State (16-4) and at the College of Charleston (4-3).
HOW SWEEP IT IS
• Coastal is coming off a sweep of the Davidson Wildcats, taking all three games of the three-game non-conference series last weekend (March 3-5) at Springs Brooks Stadium.
• The series sweep was the first for the Chanticleers this season and the first since sweeping Troy in a three-game Sun Belt Conference series at Troy (May 13-15, 2022) last season.
• In 2022, the Chanticleers recorded five three-game series sweeps on the season, all of which came in Sun Belt Conference play versus Arkansas State (April 1-3), Appalachian State (April 14-16), UT Arlington (April 22-23), Little Rock (May 6-8), and Troy (May 13-15).
