WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's beach volleyball team picked up a pair of wins at UNCW in Wilmington, N.C., on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Chants knocked off UNCW 3-2 and followed that up with a 5-0 sweep versus Jacksonville.
 
With the two wins, Coastal Carolina moved to 17-8 overall on the season.
 
Match 1: Coastal Carolina 3, UNCW 2
In Coastal's first match, the Chants jumped to the early 1-0 lead over the Seahawks as the team of Emma Gonzalez and Irena Drobnjak defeated Morgan Smith and Kaley McLaughlin in straight sets 21-12, 21-16 on court No. 5.
 
On court No. 4, the tandem of Raychel Ehlers and Madison Allred knocked off Maddy Folks and Jadyn Barry 21-13, 21-17 to put the Sandy Chants up 2-0.
 
However, Coastal's duo Sarlota Svobodova and Madie Lichty saw their 11-match winning streak snapped, as Ashley Thompson and Bri Haggerty won in straight sets 21-16, 30-28 on court No. 3.
 
After the host squad evened the match at 2-2, as the team of Elena Sanchez and Ellie Hanford fell in three sets 21-23, 21-7, 15-9 on court No. 2, CCU's Sarah Riedell and Martine Kragholm held on for a 21-19, 13-21, 18-16 win in three sets over Gabby LaPata and Sadie Sharkey to propel the Sandy Chants to the 3-2 win.
 
Match 2: Coastal Carolina 5, Jacksonville 0
In their final match of the day, the Sandy Chants swept the Dolphins 5-0.
 
CCU raced out to the early 1-0 lead, as the tandem of Drobnjak and Gonzalez took down Haley Hart and Katie Martinez 21-17, 21-15 on court No. 5.
 
Coastal pushed its lead to 2-0 with a win on court No. 4, as the team of Ehlers and Allred won 21-13, 21-16 over Cameron Knifton and Makenzie Befus.
 
The Chanticleers clinched the match as Kragholm and Riedell defeated Jenna McNamara and Kmily Kubicsko 21-19, 21-17 on court No. 1.
 
Coastal's Lichty and Svobodova (21-16, 21-12) continued the winning ways with a win over Anna Dunbar and Kristina Nika on court No. 3, while Sanchez and Hanford completed the sweep by defeating Sydney Eckhardt and Olivia Szyszkiewicz 21-13, 25-23 in straight sets on court No. 2.
 
The Sandy Chants return to the court on Friday and Saturday, April 7-8, as CCU will host the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Conway, S.C. The Chants will take on College of Charleston, Tampa, Southeastern Louisiana, and Erskine.
