Sandy Chants to Host the Coastal Carolina Invitational this Weekend

Allred and Ehlers are 20-5 on the year

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team will return to action this weekend, as the Sandy Chants will host the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Conway, S.C., on Friday and Saturday, April 7-8.

Coastal Carolina enters the week at 17-8 overall on the season after finishing 2-0 last weekend. CCU picked up a pair of wins as the Sandy Chants defeated UNCW (3-2) and Jacksonville (5-0) in a tri-match hosted by the Seahawks in Wilmington, N.C.

For the Invitational, the Chanticleers will host Southeastern Louisiana (6-15), Tampa (12-11), College of Charleston 15-6), and Erskine (4-21).

Coastal's duo of Raychel Ehlers and Madison Allred lead the way at 20-5 on the season at the No. 4 flight, having gone 8-2 in their last 10 matches.

COASTAL & COLLEGE of CHARLESTON HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the 12th time, as the Sandy Chants trail in the all-time series 7-4. The Chanticleers fell 3-2 in the last meeting with the Cougars at the CofC Classic earlier this season.

COASTAL & TAMPA HISTORY
This is just the second meeting overall between the two programs. Coastal leads the all-time series 1-0, having dispatched the Spartans 4-1 in March 2019.

COASTAL & SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA HISTORY
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

COASTAL & ERSKINE HISTORY
The two teams will face off for the eighth time, as the Sandy Chants lead in the all-time series 7-0 which began in 2021.
