Women’s Tennis Match Versus Troy Moved Up to Friday

Chants will hold their Senior Day recognition before the match
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team's final home match of the 2023 spring season versus the Troy Trojans has been moved up to Friday, April 21, due to the forecast of rain and inclement weather on Saturday, April 22. The match is set for a 1 p.m. ET start at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Prior to the match, the Chanticleers will hold their Senior Day recognition.
The Chanticleers enter the home match at 15-7 overall and 7-3 in Sun Belt play, and will look to snap a two-match losing streak heading into the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Championship Tournament on April 27-30.
Four Chants lead the way with double-digit wins on the season, led by a team-high 13 victories from junior Jesse Hollins, who has not lost since Feb. 19 at Clemson. Fellow Chants Tatum Burger (12), Anna Babayan (11), and Victoire De Samucewicz (10) have also won double-digit matches in singles play, while Megan Hopton and Lilie Steryous both have nine victories each heading into the regular-season finale.
In doubles play, the team of Babayan and Hopton sit among the Sun Belt Conference leaders with 15 overall wins and five wins in conference play, while the duo of Hollins and De Samucewicz has gone 12-2 overall on the year and lead the conference with a 7-2 record in Sun Belt action.
Not to be overlooked, the tandem of Burger and Steryous have gone 11-5 overall over the spring season, with nine of those wins coming at the No. 2 position.
Troy heads to Conway, S.C., with a record of 13-6 overall and 6-4 in Sun Belt Conference play.
The Trojans, who are 5-2 in road matches this season, are coming off a 5-2 road loss at ULM last time out on Sunday, April 16, after winning five consecutive matches in Sun Belt play.
