CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina men's tennis head coach
Chris Powers has announced the addition of
Steve Mundt as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season.
"Steve is going to be a great addition to the coaching staff. His calm demeanor and approach will fit in nicely with this group of guys," stated Powers. "He can also provide a lot of positive team-building energy on the practice court especially when we work on doubles."
A 2022 All-Sun Belt second-team selection in doubles play in his first year as a Chant, Mundt played two seasons for the Teal and Bronze in 2022-23 after playing three years at Liberty from 2018-21.
While earning his MBA at Coastal, Mundt was a mainstay on the court for Coach Powers' squad the last two spring seasons, including in doubles play.
Mundt totaled 15 doubles wins over his two spring seasons as a Chant, with 11 of those wins coming at the No. 1 doubles spot.
A 2021 graduate of Liberty, Mundt was a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and was named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Tennis Academic All-District team.
