Men's Golf Schedule Announced

Chants to play a challenging slate leading into post-season action
CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University second-year men's golf head coach Jacob Wilner has finalized the 2023-24 golf schedule, which includes five fall events followed by another six events in the spring season, once again highlighted by the General Hackler Championship at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
"We have some changes for the 2023-24 season with half of our events being new to the schedule," Wilner said. "I feel the 10 tournaments provide us with a high level of competition and located on some great venues. We are excited to tee it up come early September."
The fall season will open with the Island Resort Intercollegiate hosted by South Dakota State at the Sage Run Golf Course in Bark River, Mich., on Sept. 3-4.
A week later, the Chants will stay in-state to play in the Golfweek Challenge at the True Blue Golf Club in Pawleys Island, S.C., on Sept. 10-12.
The Chants will continue the fall slate two weeks later at the Rod Myers Invitational on Sept. 24-25. Duke University will serve as the host institution for the Rod Myers Invite at the Duke University Golf Club located in Durham, N.C.
Coastal will follow that event up with the annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate on Oct. 8-10, hosted by East Tennessee State University at the Blackthorn Club of the Ridges in Johnson City, Tenn.
CCU will end the fall schedule back in the Palmetto State at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate on Oct. 29-31. Charleston Southern will once again host the event at the Ralston Course in Daniel Island, S.C.
The Chants will open the spring portion of the schedule with an Alumni Match, with former Chants coming back to play in the one-day event on March 2 at the World Tour Golf Links.
The spring slate begins at The Hayt on March 9-11 at the Sawgrass Country Club in Point Vedra Beach, Fla., hosted by the University of North Florida. CCU played in this event last year and finished with a solid fifth-place showing in the 14-team field.
Once again, the Dunes Golf and Beach Club will be the site of the popular and highly-competitive General Hackler Championship. Some of the top programs in the nation will make their way to the Myrtle Beach course on March 18-20, with the Chanticleers serving as the proud host.
CCU will then make the short trip to Awendaw, S.C., to play in the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on March 24-26. South Carolina will host the event at the Bulls Bay Golf Club.
The Chants will end the regular season with a trip into North Carolina for the Stitch Intercollegiate set for April 12-13, hosted by NC State at the Lonnie Pool Golf Club.
The 2024 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf Championship will take place on April 22-25 at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss.
