CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team will host TCU, North Florida, and Georgia in the Coastal Carolina Tournament on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Aug. 31-Sept. 2 at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C.

ABOUT COASTAL
The Chanticleers are 1-2 on the young season after picking up a 3-0 season-opening win over Elon and dropping a pair of five-set thrillers to Charleston Southern and host Charlotte last weekend.
Jalyn Stout, a Gainesville, Fla., freshman, leads the Chants with 55 kills and is second on the team with 52 assists and 40 digs, while redshirt junior
Lauren Malone has added 26 kills, junior transfer
Cagla Bengi leads the team with 75 assists, and fellow newcomer
Sydney Lewis has 64 digs. Sophomore
Valentina Varani leads the team with 16 blocks and is third with 23 kills.
Stout picked up her first career triple-double in the five-set loss to in-state foe Charleston Southern with 21 kills, 23 assists, and 15 digs, and followed that up with a second triple-double 25 kills, 13 assists, and 17 digs versus Charlotte.
ABOUT TCU
Texas Christian University enters the weekend with a 0-2 record after falling in back-to-back meetings with nationally-ranked #7 Minnesota and #2 Wisconsin. Coastal trails the all-time series 2-1 with the Horned Frogs with the last meeting taking place in September 2022. TCU picked up a 3-1 home win last season.
The Horned Frogs are paced by Melanie Parra and Jalyn Gibson with 21 and 20 kills, respectively, while Riley Buckley leads the team with 57 assists.
Defensively, Cecily Bramschreiber leads TCU with 22 digs, while Gibson and Taylor Raiola have 19 and 18 digs, respectively. Parra and Brianna Green are holding the front line with eight blocks apiece.
ABOUT NORTH FLORIDA
The Ospreys sit 1-2 overall on the season, after opening the season at the Thunderdome Classic Volleyball Tournament. Coastal is 3-0 all-time versus North Florida, with the last meeting coming in September 2016.
UNF's attack is led by Kailey McKnight with 36 kills, while Mahalia White and Kierstyn McFall have added 21 and 19 put downs, respectively. Annie Antar and Kelly Negron make sure that the Ospreys are in position with 54 and 38 assists each.
Defending the net for North Florida, Maddie Boyd has six blocks while Rocio Moro leads the team with 41 digs.
ABOUT GEORGIA
Georgia enters play with a 2-1 record, with the lone loss coming to the Florida State Seminoles in the Classic City Clash. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 3-0 over the Chants, with the last meeting coming in August 2018.
Sophie Fischer leads UGA with 39 kills and has scored 44.5 points on the year, while Clara Brower puts the offense in the right position with 81 assists.
Defensively, Fischer protects the front line with 10 blocks on the year while Mallory Downing and Brower have 27 and 20 digs, respectively.
