PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's golf team shot a 1-under 287 in Tuesday's final round of the Golfweek Challenge at the True Blue Golf Club to finish in a tie for sixth, with a three-round score of 23-under 841, which is the fifth lowest 54-hole score in the program's history.

Ludvig Eriksson had the best finish on the course for CCU. Playing as an individual, he shot in the 60s all three rounds in scoring a 10-under 206 (69-69-68), which saw him finish tied for 10th. Eriksson was especially strong on the par 5s as his 4.33 scoring average was tied for the top par 5 scoring average.
Another Chanticleer playing as an individual,
Trace McDonald, finished 14th. He had the best round of the day for CCU shooting a five-under 67, which saw him finish his three-day total with a seven-under 209 (70-72-67). McDonald was the event's leader in eagles with three, which included two in today's round on holes five and 18.
Seth Taylor shot a six-under 210 (69-68-73) to finish in a tie for 18th. He was tied for 11th in total birdies with 15, which was also a team high.
Garrett Cooper finished tied for 30th after carding a four-under 212 (73-69-70), scoring sub-par rounds over the second and third round. He was tied for seventh in the tournament with a team-high 38 pars, while
Connor Bennink was only one stroke back with a three-under 213 (71-69-73). He finished tied for 38th.
Carlos Garre (71-73-71),
Brady Duval (72-72-71) and
Jack Lee (70-67-78) each finished with a one-under 215 to finish tied for 45th.
Owen Kim shot a four-over 220 (72-76-72) to finished tied for 66th and
Trey Crenshaw finished 76th with a 10-over 226 (77-70-79).
Loyola Marymount won the event with a 47-under 817 (271-274-272), holding off Washington State which finished one shot back at 46-under 818 (272-271-275). Third-place Western Carolina was only five shots off the lead finishing with a 42-under 822 (279-266-277). Sun Belt Conference member Arkansas State finished fourth at 36-under 828 (274-274-280) with Wright State rounding out the top-five with a 24-under 840 (287-277-276).
CCU finished one shot out of the top five with their 841 (281-273-287) as did Jacksonville with their 23-under 841 (282-285-274). Three teams tied for eighth as Jacksonville State (282-280-285), Richmond (279-279-289), and Charleston Southern (287-282-278) each finished with a 17-under 847.
Finalizing the field were Stephen F. Austin with a 13-under 851 (282-285-284), New Orleans at nine-under 855 (285-288-282), followed by Presbyterian with a five-over 869 (291-292-286) and Eastern Kentucky at 10-over 874 (291-284-299).
The Chants will be back in action Sept. 24-25 at the Rod Myers Invitational hosted by Duke at the Duke University Golf Club.
